David Yates has said that he isn't worried about the pressure of directing a Doctor Who movie.

The filmmaker admitted that he is used to being under intense fan scrutiny, having worked on the Harry Potter series for several years.

"I've lived with pressure for so long. What's pressure? I don't know anymore! It's fine, it's good," he told MTV. "It's such a wonderful character and such a wonderful world. It's exciting."

Yates refused to give specific details on the direction his Doctor Who reboot would take, but said that the script is more important to him now than any casting decisions.

"We're principally looking for a writer, and we'll start with that," he explained. "Everything has to start with a great script, so that's more important than [casting]."

Yates also added that his big budget Who project is years away, saying: "It's a long journey and we're going to take our time with it."
