Conrad had reportedly fuelled the speculation after she told reporters that Bosworth had taken acting lessons and was her first choice for the lead role in LA Candy.
Speaking to E! News, Bosworth said: "It was more of a joke than anything.
"We were on the red carpet together and they were like, 'Who do you want to be in the movie?'"
She added: "I would love to make a cameo, but I don't think I could handle a big role because I'm not an actress. A cameo would be really fun."
LA Candy was influenced by Conrad's real-life and revolves around a 19-year-old girl who moves to Hollywood and finds fame as a reality TV star.
