Audrina Partridge is the first reality TV star from MTV's The Hills to land a film role.

The 23-year-old has joined Chris Carmack and Laura Vandervoort in MGM's Into the Blue 2, a sequel to the Jessica Alba film that flopped on its initial cinema run before becoming a success on DVD.

The sequel revolves around married divers who are hired to search for Christopher Columbus's lost treasure. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Partridge has been cast as "a no-nonsense, beautiful beach babe whose boyfriend caters to her every command".

Charles Winkler will direct and produce Into the Blue 2.

MTV's hit reality show The Hills focuses on Laguna Beach's Lauren Conrad as she starts a new life in Los Angeles with friends Heidi Montag, Whitney Port and Partridge.

A fourth season will air in August.
