Meester told Seventeen magazine that it was a pleasure to collaborate with experienced country music stars during the production of the movie.
"It was very inspiring being around all these people who make really good music and write amazing songs that tell stories," she said.
The star also touted the legendary reputation held by Nashville's local musicians.
Meester explained: "There's a lot of really talented people in Nashville and the music they make has been around forever. They are real musicians, it's not just a computer."
The Gossip Girl actress recorded four tracks for director Shana Feste's forthcoming drama, including a duet with co-star Garrett Hedlund.
Meester recently suggested that she is not rushing to finish work on her debut LP Love Is A Drug.
Country Strong is released on January 7 in US cinemas and on March 4 in the UK.
