The film will be released in summer 2012 according to lead actor Kiefer Sutherland. Producer Grazer tweeted yesterday about his involvement.
He said: "Got off the phone [with] Keifer (sic) yesterday and we are very excited about producing the 24 movie for next year."
Grazer co-owns Imagine Entertainment with Ron Howard, the company that produced the long-running series on Fox.
The movie-maker has previously produced the likes of 8 Mile, Inside Man and Frost/Nixon. He has also appeared twice as himself on The Simpsons.
24 showrunner Howard Gordon had previously said that production for the film was "on hold".
