The 45-year-old star revealed on Sunday (January 8) at the Fox TCA panel for his new drama Touch that the film will begin shooting in late March/early April, as was reported in early December.
Sutherland also opened up about his role as a widower with an 11-year-old mute son in the upcoming series Touch.
"I remember getting to page 35 and thinking, 'S**t. I'm in real trouble here'," he said. "The character is so vastly different [from 24's Jack Bauer], the tone of the piece is so vastly different. And that's part of its appeal.
"Does it happen to be a nice diversion from 24?" Sutherland asked. "Yes. I just couldn't turn this down because it spoke to me on a really profound level."
Touch will premiere on March 19 at 9pm on Fox. A special preview of the series will air on January 25 at 9pm.
