Julianne Hough to join 'Footloose' cast?

Julianne Hough has been lined up for the Footloose remake, according to reports.

The Dancing With The Stars professional is said to be in negotiations to star opposite Chace Crawford for the update of the 1984 film, says E!.

It is understood that the 21-year-old will take on the role only if her schedule permits. Though she had an uncredited bit part as a Hogwarts schoolgirl in Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001, this would be her first time on the big screen.

Hough’s brother Derek, who also partners up with celebrities on the dancing competition, had previously hinted that he may feature in the movie as well.

Earlier this month, the film’s director Kenny Ortega spoke about Julianne at the MTV Movie Awards, saying: "I love her. I adore her. I'm a big fan of hers. Not only how beautiful but how deep her talent goes."

Footloose is scheduled to begin production in March 2010.
