It's actually 'Viva La Vida' - the song from the iTunes ad and the title track from their new album - that's duelling for the top spot. It's looking pretty close, with Ne-Yo, Mint Royale and Sara Bareilles all in the running, but 'Viva's ahead at the moment.
'Viva' actually sold well enough to make the top five last week, but it was excluded from the chart because it came free if you pre-ordered the Coldplay album from iTunes. Now this is no longer the case, and Viva's available as a proper, you-pays-your-79p-you-gets-your-track download, it's chart eligible for the first time.

We only wish they hadn't let Apple Martin make the cover (pictured left) in art class.
