Shakin' Stevens has said that he is hoping to break audience expectations at Glastonbury.

The veteran singer was a surprise addition the festival bill when it was announced in April.

However, Stevens claimed he was looking forward to playing the "biggest festival there is in Britain" and surprising festival-goers with his talent.

"People have got a preconceived idea of what I look like, what I perform and what my shows are all about," he told The Guardian.

"I can understand that, because all they can refer to is Top Of The Pops. But those who come to my shows know better."

Stevens scored hits with 'This Ole House', 'Green Door' and 'Merry Christmas Everyone' during the 1980s.

He plays the Pyramid Stage at next week's summer bash. Tickets are still available for the event.
