Ne-Yo knocks Coldplay off No.1

Rex Features

Ne-Yo has ended Coldplay's seven-day reign at the top of the UK singles chart, climbing to No.1 with 'Closer'.

It's the second chart-topper for the singer - real name Shaffer Smith - who also reached No. 1 with his debut single, 'So Sick', in March 2006.

Meanwhile, Chris Brown enjoys a bumper week on the charts, claiming third place with 'No Air', a duet with American Idol star Jordin Sparks, and fourth position with his solo single, 'Forever'.

The only new entry in the top ten comes from Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park, who jump from 14 to 10 with 'We Made It'.
