Dear oh dear oh dear!! After all the previous comments, McFly's track didn't even get to No.1!! Not only this, but it fell nineteen places to No.22 the next week! And on to week three... Well, I'm looking inside the UK top 40 and I can't see it anywhere......no, stil haven't found it. Looks like I'm gonna have to check out the top fifty instead. Ah, here they are!! After just three weeks on release, McFly's track 'One For The Radio' can only scrape to No.46. " But they released their album for free through a national newspaper " I hear all their deluded fans cry. Duffy released her 'Rockferry' a week of two after 'Mercy' hit No.1, and still managed five weeks on top. So there. Suffice to say, McFly's single 'One For The Radio' has bombed. Spectacularly!

Gina from Galway, took the words right out of my mouth!
Jessica on July 19th, 2008
i think mcfly should be number one as they have worked so hard on their new album. ive been on everytour since the band formed and love all their music. its true dads across the country do like the new song cuz my dad now knows most of the words. love all of them especially dougie :D xx
Abigail, Nantwich on July 19th, 2008
i hope they are no 1, i am going to see them on the 2nd of august here in nantwich hows that on my doorstep!
Martin, Birmingham on July 19th, 2008
I think Alan knows that we were not arguing Sophie, it was more of a debate. That's the reason Digital Spy have this section for our views. If Alan thought I was arguing then I do obviously apologise, as I do to anyone who might of slightly been offended by anything or any thoughts of me having an argument on here.
Gina, Galway on July 18th, 2008
Well McFly's new single has totally bombed on the Irish Singles Chart, landing at #22. Kid Rock's All SummerLong leaps up to #2 behind Basshunter's All I Ever Wanted. At least te Irish music buying public have TASTE
Sophie, London on July 18th, 2008
And thank you too Alan, and you don't have to explain your reasoning because you were being unfairly treated, there are others on here saying that they're rubbish but for some reason they were all picking on you. As for the chart position on Sunday and proceeding weeks we'll just have to wait and see. Not commenting on other people's comment goes for everyone (unless of course it's nice) not just adam and alan!
Alan, Cork on July 18th, 2008
I'm with you Sophie! And I don't judge McFly JUST on their music sales. I was just using that to back up my argument. So I hope McFly enjoy their No.1 this Sunday, cause they wont be there for much longer...
Sophie, London on July 18th, 2008
Thank you for agreeing with me Adam I really appreciate it. Both of you are right to be fair, my vote is to stop commenting on other people's comments, because as we've just seen it leads to arguements, lets just comment on Mcfly but more importantly THIS single and only THIS single. Who's with me?
Adam, Leeds on July 18th, 2008
I totally agree with you Sophie, everyone is entitled to their own opinions and lets focus on the music. I think it’s just a little annoying when opinions become mixed up with facts. If people think McFly are ‘useless’ then their entitled to think that, but my point is not to base that opinion on things like single sales, as I’m sure they would not judge every band in this way. It just becomes a little hypocritical to judge McFly in this way, when chances are other bands would not be branded so negatively just based on their record sales.
Sophie, London on July 18th, 2008
I think we should all put our handbags away...Alan you just need to settle with the fact that some people DO like them and enjoy their music and don't want them to disappear. Equally others need to stop this personal vendetta against him, he is entitled to his own opinion just like everyone else, and should be allowed to stand up for himself. Now can we all stop trying to score points and concentrate on the music please.
Alan, Cork on July 18th, 2008
Well, Martin, when the facts are supplied by the Official Charts Company, I do tend to believe them. Ok, lets have a look at McFly's last three singles shall we? 'The Heart Never Lies', entered at No.3, fell to No.22 two weeks later. 'Baby's Coming Back', entered at No.1, fell to No.20 the next week and then No.39 the next week. 'Sorry's Not Good Enough', entered at No.3, then fell to No.20 the next week. Deluded facts, eh Martin? " Extraordinary fanbase " I think not....
Adam, Leeds on July 17th, 2008
Hey Alan, my point was that you surely don’t judge every band on the amount of singles they actually sell? I did read your comments and that’s why I clearly argued that you can’t call a band useless based on their single sales. McFly’s success speaks for itself, as highlighted by Martin, and I’m sure you don’t make judgements of other bands in the same way you do Mcfly. The facts are that Mcfly have and still can shift records, so I’m sure there are loads of bands out there who would kill to be as ‘useless’ as Mcfly.
Ashley, Somewhere on July 17th, 2008
Guys, there's a rather worrying rumour going round that hmv have well and truly screwed up and that they have lost 3000 orders of the single and 3000 people's money! So if your orders haven't come through the post yet or even if yours have you might want to buy it again, it s just a rumour, so don't blame me if it's not true, but...
Becca, London on July 17th, 2008
The song is good enough to be number one and deserves to be. The cock up HMV have caused though may mean that they have to settle for number 2 which is ridiculous as that Dizee Rascel song is absolutly terrible!
Martin, Birmingham on July 17th, 2008
"I'm just recalling facts I have read". Do you believe EVERYTHING you read Alan? Really? The fact of the matter is - they've had seven number ones (and soon to be eight), there fanbase it extraordinary. There touring America for a year soon (rumoured), they've had two number one albums DEBUT at number one. They the youngest band to EVER make it to number one (beating the Beatles), they've done a heck of a lot for charity, and they really (unlike MANY bands and musicians nowadays) care about there fans, and what they think about the music. So, please, don't sit there and state that there pathetic, when you can't even provide a full argument for your deluded "facts".
Alan, Cork on July 17th, 2008
" At least make a decent argument " eh Adam?? If you had bothered to ready my above comments you'll have seen that they had the lowest selling No.1 of last year which was outsold by a 20 year old Queen record. It was also outsold by 'Tears Dry On Their Own' by Amy Winehouse, which peaked at No.16 and her album had already sold well over a million in the UK. I think that backs up my point fairly well, no?? And no Lily, I haven't done a lot of research into McFly, I'm just recalling facts I have read. And please tell me Adam, how I don't seem to be the "type of guy to judge a band by their single sales, judging by past comments ", cause I'm dying to know!
Lily, UK on July 17th, 2008
alan from cork you are entitled to your own opinon and I respect you for it seen as you are being a tiny bit outnumbered, but you seem to know alot about them or have done alot of research for someone who doesn't like them. It may just be common knowledge, but i certainly didn't know. i'm not a huge fan of them but this new stuff does seem a little bit better...
Adam, Leeds on July 17th, 2008
YO Alan from Cork. You don't seem the type of guy, from your past comments, to judge a band by their single sales! So why the big focus on McFLY's single sales?! I bet your one of those guys who loves other bands that don't sell that many records! So please tell me, should all bands who supposedly don't sell that many singles be branded 'useless'? Come on dude, you obviously don't like McFLY, but don't start triping up over your own words. At least make a decent argument!
Alan, Cork on July 16th, 2008
Well, Scott from Wales, Roger Daltrey and Brian May's opinion of McFly hasn't really been reflected in sales of their records, so....
Amy, Reading on July 16th, 2008
They've GOT to be number one! :D
Ping, Birmingham on July 16th, 2008
O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D!!! dont like them never will.
Scott, Wales on July 16th, 2008
well alan from cork, roger daltrey and brian may didin't seem to think they were useless when they performed with the band (by choice) in 2005 and 2006 respectively. I think roger said and I quote "they're brilliant", do I need to say more...
Alan, Cork on July 16th, 2008
Michelle, Martin and Alisha from Rosscommon (the nicest place in the world to live, I'm sure!), you can argue all you like, but you can't change the facts. All of McFly's No.1's from last year dropped from the top ten almost instanteneously, and they had the lowest selling No.1 of last year which ended up being outsold by Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' which is well over 20 years old. So, my already strong argument is being backed up by some very solid facts. McFly's fanbase so small and their music so thin in quality that yes, they really are THE most useless band ever.
Sophie, Liverpool on July 16th, 2008
Everybody, they're no.1 in the midweek charts! YAY!
Martin, Birmingham on July 16th, 2008
Just wanna say - The Mirror (Newspaper).. Shame on you, they've done a section in their Showbiz column (3AM), and ended up calling the new album Supersonic. Disgraceful.
Tami, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA on July 16th, 2008
The new songs are SUPER! I'm happy for the band to be making the album they've always wanted to create. Incredible vocals as usual - - I love the depth of feeling and up-beat sound of the music! Good job Tom, Harry, Danny and Dougie!!!! You've done it again - - #1!
Jamie-Erin AUSTRALIA on July 16th, 2008
I hope the best of the boys.. i really want them to get the confidence to go world wide!! x
Kelly, Australia on July 16th, 2008
McFLY just keep getting better and better! Every album is something new and fresh, and I'm so excited about what McFLY's new found freedom is going to do for this one. McFLY have never been the boyband type. They write their own songs, sing live and SOUND like their recordings and can't dance for their life. Anyone who labels them as such is just being prejudiced and it's their own loss. McFLY have a strong and loyal fan base that is going to follow them right to the end. Rock on! x
Jasmine Canada on July 16th, 2008
McFly's song "one for the raido will" go to #1 for sure because its a good song and if you listin to it ( alan cork dude) you'll see it isn't bad. And who cares if it goes into the top 10 next week. That doesn't mean that it didn't get #1. McFly r awsome ( n u need to chill...alan cork)
Meg, Wales on July 15th, 2008
I do want McFly to make number one on Sunday, the deserve it. I'm hoping for some anthems that will make this summer as good as Room On The Third Floor made that summer. The new album will be amazing, and everyone that say it will be rubbish can jog on.
Linzi, Glasgow on July 15th, 2008
They sooooooo deserve number 1! One for the radio is awesome! One of their best songs id say! Can't wait for the Tour and Album :)
Michelle A. on July 15th, 2008

Alisha, Roscommon on July 15th, 2008
I really do hope they get to number one! They put so much work into this single and the new album! They deserve it! Alan, if you think McFly are so useless and blah, blah, blah why did you go through the trouble of posting?!
Sasha, Dublin on July 15th, 2008
Can't believe McFy are heading to the top of the singles chart for an eighth time . . . Dizzee Rascal's Dance Wiv Me and Kid Rock's All Summer Long are super tracks . . . Kid Rock deserves a #1 position, what a great refreshing summer tune, McFly deserve #3 at the highest
