Shaggy has claimed that he is still "the man to beat" when it comes to hit records.
The 'Boombastic' singer said no dancehall or reggae artist could match his record sales, which he claimed put him in the same category as Bob Marley.
"To survive 20 years and still be the man to beat is incredible," he told DS.
"A lot of people have come along since me, like Sean Paul, but no-one has sold the numbers I have and no-one has the No.1s I have. After all is said and done, I'm still the man to beat."
He added: "To have a diamond record (ten million album sales in the US) puts you in a category with Bob Marley.
"I was selling the numbers that Bob Marley sold... and I wasn't dead! But I still have time to do more."
