Yes, I definitely hear the Ethio sound in this song. That's what makes it so appealing to me. I t may be the best of her songs.

Terrible Song. Gawd knows how it got to number one!! I like Pink as a singer but that song is just...awful!
Zach, Los Angeles on December 30th, 2008
God awful. Honestly, if writing the lyrics to this song took any longer than 80 seconds i'd truly be suprised. Pink has an amazing voice, and great songs. "So What" is lazy, slapped together garbage that she should (and probably is) embarassed for releasing as it is. "the waitor just took my taaa-ble and gave it to jessica simmmpson"...they sould come clean and admit that a three year old wrote this for them. Just goes to show that some atrists can metaphorically crap in a paper bag and the masses will eat it up like belgian waffles. Truly, truly terrible.

I wasn't previously a Pink fan, but I am a world music fan, and there is DEFINITELY a strong Ethiopian vibe in this song. This is the first time I've heard an Ethiopian tune woven into American pop music, and I love it.

I love it! It has a kick-ass attitude that a woman might need to get through the heart ache of breaking up! I give them both a lot of credit for having him on the vidio. Her for asking him and him for agreeing! We should all take note. I feel for you, Pink! I also have a lot of respect. Speaking from experience, as one of your older fans. PS, Pink, my name is Pinky also! Since I was a baby until now. This is my nick name called by friends and family. I have loved your singing since the first moment I heard you! Please keep on rockin! Be safe. 1

I agree with your point about not underestimating this song. It may be a break-up song but it's also a good song. The chorus is extremely catchy.

The end of So What the guitar comes in and plays the melody of "Don't Let Me Get Me."

More crap from Max Martin. Please Pink don't sell out. Go back to your producers from the first three albums. Your classic songs "Family Portrait", "God Is A DJ", "Get The Party Started", "Some Girls" and "Don't Let Me Get Me" have been replaced by trash like "U and yr hand" and this new irritating mess. You need to find another producer, as Britney Spears producer isn't for you.

Sam World, North Wales on September 24th, 2008
she never fails to keep me glued to the seat watching the video over and over again. her songs are catchy and keep you humming along all day (much to your own annoyance). the video is excellent and fair play to hart for being a good sport. she just gets better and better with each song. her style of music is what keeps her tied to her fans!!!

When I first heard this I thought it was odd and didn't think I'd get into it, but I love it now. It's much better than Stupid Girls which I've never really liked. Can't wait for the album.
Doc on September 19th, 2008
Cracking song. Stomping, stonking chorus. And the fact she got her hubby to appear in the video says something about the tongue-in-cheek nature of the song. One of my fave songs at the mo.
NAUGHTYNICK, Cristiano Ronaldo's bed on September 18th, 2008
Well I don't agree Digital Spy.. I think this song is a POOR opener to a Pink album. I mean Stupid Girls sounds like a "like a prayer" or a "cant get you out of my head" compared to so what.. Hope this improves cos Pink im not getting this annoying song im affraid..
KC, Manchester on September 18th, 2008
Pink rocks! Can't wait fot the new album
Louise, Midlands on September 18th, 2008
Yep, completely agree with the review. You can tell from both the song & the video that it isn't a serious song & that its very tongue-in-cheek & that is what Pink does best. The reason i really like Pink is that you can tell she doesn't take things to seriously & she is always the first to make fun of herself & thats whats great bout her. Fantastic song, fantastic video & a well deserved number 1 in america to go with it. Well done Pink on another fantastic hit. :D
Makson on September 18th, 2008
This is absolutely dire. Pink needs to go back to her "r&b roots" from her debut album.

Great review but Matty's comment hits the nail on the head!
Matty, Glasgow on September 18th, 2008
I think the song and video are a brilliant parody on how the tabloids portrayed the ending of their marriage. Not a real angry break up song.
Jelly, Suffolk on September 18th, 2008
LOVE IT!!!
Glyn on September 18th, 2008
At last, a DS review that I agree with! I love this song and can't wait for the new album. She never fails to deliver. My favourite video of 2008 and ever better then the mighty Stupid Girls. =D
