Keane: 'Fans should expect new sound'

Keane fans will be surprised when they hear the band's new album, according to pianist Tim Rice-Oxley.

The songwriter remarked that Perfect Symmetry is the product of the group experimenting with their sound, adding that they do not believe in standing still musically.

"If people expect you to do the same thing on every album they're certainly going to be disappointed as far as Keane are concerned," he said.

"You make a record and then you make the next one two years later. You change as people and you have new influences and new ideas and that has certainly happened to us.

"I think the music is a bit brighter and more multi-coloured so that's our look on the world."

Perfect Symmetry is released today.
