i appreciate that the song is for chairity but you hear it the first time and the songs unbeleivably good but then it gets tireing, boreing, and when it keeps of such good artists (Girls Aloud, Beyonce, Christina, Britney, Leona, Katy Perry, T.I./Rihanna, Alesha Dixon & The Killers) From The Top Spot It Really Makes My Skin Crawl, Thank God If I Were Boy Reigned Over It.

i'l start by saying that hero is an incredible song to begin with, but some of the voices in the competition didn't fit with the song! i think it should've been just ruth, alex and laura! but i like that the song is for charity.

Brilliant song. Being honest I prefered it to a few other chart - topping songs. GO HERO!!!!!!
Jim, Durham on November 7th, 2008
I'd rather just give my money to the actual charity than buy this x factor manufactured crap! It's boring, just because it's for charity doesn't mean you have to buy the single. I think it's like Simon & co. waving fame in front of these wannabe's and making them think they are brilliant when they are not. Look at leon, he did rubbish in the charts and got beat by peter kay in a wig!

This was excellent. Every singer brang a different style into the song and made it mesmerising. people who gave it 1 or 2 stars obviously dont no what music is if they dont like this. I will definetely be buying this.

i like the version that the finalists have done i like the layout and all the best singers come out and give it their best voice. and can you please stop giving leon jackson such a hard time! so what if he didn't get to #1 he got to #2 at least! and you keep comparing him to leona lewis, WHY?? they are two totally different people, and it is really unfair to actually expect him to do as well as her when it is a known fact that the only reason she is doing so well is because of simon cowell, he has put all his time and effort into her and that is the only reason she is so successful, without his help she wouldn't be even close to the success she is having right now! so stop being unfair to leon, he hasn't had half the help leona has! but he still has the goods to make it as big as her! i rate this article at awful and the single at excellent. and i also rate leon jackson at excellent.

I'm a big X Factor fan but I'd rather pay £4 for a poppy than buy this. I've never liked that song at the best of times, too cloying for my taste. I'm also annoyed at the Cowell propaganda machine saying that only Leona Lewis sold more in her first week than Hero. In fact Will Young's Evergreen sold almost as many in his first DAY than the over-rated Leona sold in her first week. Will's first week sales were over a million, which kind of puts all this into perspective. That said, I support the cause 100%. Help For Heroes is doing an excellent job in raising young people's awareness of how important it is to support our war victims.

brilliant such a great cause

TWO STARS? It's for such a worthy cause towards our brave troops they could be singing "my old man's a dustman" and it still should be worthy of more than two stars. Ironic that you gave some random girlband four or five stars for a crap song because you obviously fancied one of the bints during a previous interview. DS isn't exactly the home of professional journalism - I'm surprised you didn't copy and paste a review from the Daily Star, as per how you deal with most of the copy here. I'm not seeing careers in journalism for anyone here.
Tina on November 2nd, 2008
good cause
James, Aberdeen on November 2nd, 2008
This is a great thing theyre doing for our troops. Ive bought it
May Li Lau, Surrey on October 31st, 2008
Two star? I cannot believe that! I think 'Hero' is a brilliant and emotional song to help the charity 'Help for Heroes'. Isn't it enough that the 12 contestants made such an effort in singing the song than just thinking abut the 'vocals'.
Cam, England on October 30th, 2008
love the song!
Tony, Mansfield on October 30th, 2008
HOW many key changes? What a load of TOSH! The original song was nice, if a little twee, and was performed by a proper singer. This however is complete bilge being churned out by inexperienced "wannabe's" with terrible forced vibrato and learned rather than natural breathing and inflection being pushed by unscrupulous producers and record company employees. I agree with other commentators who suggest giving money directly to charity - buying this single will simply perpetuate these people's belief in their own dubious "talent" and keep them in the sphere of media attention for far longer than they deserve.
Luke, South Wales on October 30th, 2008
I absolutely love the song, its also for a very good cause.
Steve, York on October 30th, 2008
I'll donate some money if they DON'T release this. What a load of crap!!! Another cynical X Factor pile of garbage. After Leon disasterous performance in the single and album charts, the X Factor factory is on it's way out. Say NO to mass produced pap!!!!
David Smith, Ireland on October 30th, 2008
I'm going to give my money directly - not buy this rubbish. Crap song. Good cause for charity. Just because it's for Charity IS NOT a reason to buy it.
Ste, Middlesbrough on October 29th, 2008
No matter what you think of the cause it's for, the song is a wreck. Predictable, cliché and abusing a charity for fame.
Alan , Cork on October 29th, 2008
I don't think its quite as bad as you're trying to say...
Matt, Chester on October 29th, 2008
I love this song! It also goes to a worthy charity.
Jennifer, Belfast on October 29th, 2008
NO, NO, NO! This is one of the greatest songs ever written and recorded, and this is a complete destruction of it. It's just another one of these stupid ideas to make money rather than decent tracks. REAL MUSIC, PLEASE!
Sizz on October 29th, 2008
I think 2 stars is not fair. It's a great single and for a very worthwhile charity. It is a good song, and I think they performed it great. Deserves more than 2 stars.
