Leona Lewis has said that she supports Simon Cowell's attempts to save Christmas Top Of The Pops.
The X Factor winner claimed that the disappearance of music TV in Britain is harming the industry.
"If [Christmas Top Of The Pops] is going, it's sad," she told DS. "I did it the year that I won X Factor and it would be a shame to lose it. I would definitely back Simon."
She continued: "Music TV in the UK is disappearing. Top Of The Pops, CD:UK, and shows like that have gone. It's bringing down the music industry."
Lewis also called for British TV producers to be more accommodating of live acts rather than forcing performers to mime.
She said: "They need to be more willing to accommodate live music. When you want to play with a band on UK TV it's always very tricky, which is a shame, because we need to support live music."
