Duffy: 'Rain On Your Parade'

At the beginning of the year, music critics tagged Duffy as "one of the new Amys", but with her debut album likely to become the biggest seller of 2008, the Welsh singer is now very much a contemporary of Winehouse – in terms of musical achievement, that is, rather than extracurricular activities. Fresh from setting her hair alight on tour in the US, Duffy is back with single number five.

A new track taken from the 'Deluxe Edition' of her Rockferry album, 'Rain On Your Parade' has a more orchestral sound than her previous releases, leading many to speculate that it may have been intended for the new Bond flick. Whether it lost out to Jack and Alicia or not, this sounds like another smash for Duffy, with her distinctive vocals sure to provide warming comfort as the cold winter nights set in.
