It's not hard to imagine what inspired the title of the new Britney album - Spears's very public breakdown turned out to be the biggest media circus of the century so far. Thankfully, after regaining her mojo with 'Womanizer' and its brilliant promo video, she's now flexing her new-found confidence on the album's title track.

"There's only two types of people in the world, the ones that entertain and the ones that observe," Britney sings on 'Circus' - and it's clear which camp she's in. Sounding sexy and self-assured, she takes centre stage on this appealingly bombastic pop offering from Swedish hitmaker Dr. Luke. With clever lyrics and a killer hook, it's good enough to make us overlook those rather wobbly and flat-footed live performances.
