Roger Waters said he will not boycott Israel despite calls for him to cancel a gig in protest at the country's actions in Palestine.
The bassist said he will not rule out going to the country, after the Palestinian Association for Contemporary Art asked him to back a campaign against barriers in the West Bank. He has previously spoken out against the barrier policy.
He explained: "I would not rule out going to Israel because I disapprove of the foreign policy any more than I would refuse to play in the UK because I disapprove of Tony Blair's foreign policy." The former Pink Floyd member added that many of his fans were "refuseniks."
Sliman Manour, a member of the association, criticised Waters. He said: "How can someone who wants to look like a leftist in the world come to Israel while they are still building their wall and hold a musical event?"
