Bolt Media released a song yesterday which was created online by people who had never met.

Networking site Bolt.com held weekly auditions for the project, with music experts and members of the group Three Days Grace taking responsibility for picking five musicians to form new band Orangeblood. The final members of the group include a Christian rocker and youth pastor, and a 17-year-old high school student.

Orangeblood created the track, called Gunshy, after receiving feedback and constructive criticism from other musicians over the internet.

"This competition has allowed talented musicians from all over the world to meet and create original music and hopefully form a successful, long-term band. These people would have never had the opportunity to meet without this type of online collaboration,” Aaron Cohen, CEO of Bolt Media, explained in a statement.

"Forming a virtual band online is a natural progression in the user-generated content movement."
