KT Tunstall has revealed that it was strange to be seen as a pop star following the success of her debut album.

The 32-year-old Scottish singer was shocked by the attention that Eye To The Telescope received in 2005, and found her sudden 'pop star' label "ridiculous".

"I didn't want to be a pop star, I just wanted to be the same old KT, busking and playing in pubs," Tunstall told The Sun.

"For the first year it seemed ridiculous that people were talking about me as a star. But after all that hard work, I feel like I've earnt the right to say, 'Alright then, come on then, let's be a pop star then, let's see what it’s like.'"

KT releases her new album Drastic Fantastic next month.
