Avril Lavigne, Muse storm EMAs

Avril Lavigne has won two prizes at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, taking home the most addictive track gong for 'Girlfriend' and the solo artist accolade.

Rockers Muse also nabbed two gongs, winning the headliner prize and the best UK & Ireland act gong.

Rihanna was named ultimate urban act, while Nelly Furtado landed the album of the year prize for her seven million-selling Loose LP.

Amy Winehouse won the prestigious artist's choice award, which was voted for by 80 popstars canvassed by MTV News crews over the last six months.

30 Second To Mars won the rock out prize, while Linkin Park were named band of 2007.

French dance duo Justice won the video star award for their 'D.A.N.C.E' promo.
