Charlie Simpson has admitted that his girlfriend "freaked out" when she heard songs about her on Fightstar's latest album.
The group's frontman broke up with Camilla Smith while writing One Day Son, This Will Be Yours and many of the songs were influenced by the split. However, he had to face the music when they reunited and Smith finally heard the tracks.
"The majority of our last album was about the split with my girlfriend," Charlie told the Daily Record. "We have been together since meeting at school, so when we split I just vented all my emotion into the tracks.
"But after we decided to get back together recently she completely freaked out when she heard all the tracks. She said 'What on earth is this? This is weird'. But now she loves the album.
"In a funny way it has been good that we had that time apart and I got to vent all my emotion. It meant we ended up with some great songs."
