Before we proceed, we'd like to warn the faint-hearted that the St Trinian's album does feature a comedy song by Rupert Everett.
1. Girls Aloud: 'Theme To St. Trinian's'
An electro-glam-sci-fi-rock romp featuring lyrics about "tormenting slags", "blackmailing Goths" and "doing as we damn well please". YAY!
2. Cast of St. Trinian's: 'Trouble'
Sensibly, a pretty faithful cover of Shampoo's snot-pop classic. YAY!
3. Marc Ronson feat Lily Allen: 'Oh My God'
The Ronson + Hip Popstrel Do Indie Cover single that isn't quite as popular as 'Valerie'. YAY!
4. Rupert Everett and Colin Firth: 'Love Is In The Air'
A cringe-inducing 'comedy' cover of John Paul Young's disco classic set to the rhythm track from Donna Summer's 'Bad Girls'. NAY!
5. Noisettes: 'Don't Give Up'
A riff-driven punk-pop tune featuring yelping, soulful vocals from a lady called Shingai. YAY!
6. The Ordinary Boys Vs. Lady Sovereign: 'Nine2Five'
A watery slice of ska-pop that tells listeners - be they cleaners, company directors or cabbage-pickers - how difficult and time-consuming it is to be a popstar. NAY!
7. Sophie Ellis-Bextor: 'If I Can't Dance'
Taut, catchy disco-pop with a chorus based on a famous quotation from a dead feminist. YAY!
8. Remi Nicole: 'Teenage Kicks'
A surprisingly rawk cover of that Undertones song John Peel used to be reasonably fond of. Sadly, it's not as enjoyable as the Busted version. NAY!
9. Gabriella Cilmi: 'Sanctuary'
A dreamy mid-tempo pop ballad sung by a woman who sounds a bit like Macy Gray, a bit like Amy Winehouse and a bit like Shaznay from All Saints. YAY!
10. The Four Aces feat Al Alberts: 'Love Is A Many Splendored Thing'
A gooey, melodic fifties pop song that sticks out like a hod-carrier at a WI meeting next to the spikier offerings on the rest of the album. NAY!
11. Sugababes: '3 Spoons of Suga'
The Nancy Sinatra-style pop strut from the Sugababes' superb Change album. YAY!
12. Girls Aloud: 'On My Way To Satisfaction'
A fuzz-rockin' cousin to the Aloud's 2006 single 'Wake Me Up', featuring lead vocals by Sarah Harding. YAY!
13. Cast of St. Trinian's: 'Theme To St Trinian's'
The Girls Aloud song from earlier, sung by actors and featuring a jaunty ska beat, casio-circa-1982 keyboards and a glam interlude. NAY!
The result: 8 YAY!s 5 NAY!s. It's Zavvi's lucky day.
