Pete Doherty wants to crack America

Pete Doherty has told friends that he wants to try for success in America.

The Babyshambles frontman has been in talks with a number of US music magazines in recent weeks.

However, the chances of Doherty being allowed into the country are remote due to his drug convictions.

One pal told The Sun: "Pete is sure he can crack the US. He has been saying that as they let The Beatles in, he should be fine."
