Winehouse 'favourite' for Bond theme

Amy Winehouse is the favourite to write and perform the new James Bond theme, reports say.

It was claimed last October that she would not be approached to record the music as producers favoured Finnish rock band HIM.

However, The Sun reports that she is still in with a chance if she stays off drugs until April.

A source said: “That’s when the Bond people make a final decision on who sings the theme. If Amy is clean then, it’s hers.”

But 007 actor Daniel Craig denied the rumours, telling MTV: “Why is everybody ramming [the name] Amy Winehouse out? It’s just way, way off that.

“Everyone’s speculating about it but we’ve got other things to deal with - there’s no point in writing the song for a movie when we haven’t got a movie."

Winehouse is currently receiving treatment for drug addiction at the Capio Nightingale rehab clinic in London.
