Janet Jackson's Discipline has become her sixth LP to top the US album chart.

The album sold 181,000 copies in the US last week to replace Jack Johnson's Sleep Through The Static at the summit of the Billboard 200.

The singer also reached number one with Control (1986), Rhythm Nation 1814 (1989), janet. (1993), The Velvet Rope (1997) and All For You (2001).

Discipline got off to a less successful start in the UK, debuting at number 63 on this week's album chart.
