Persson, who fronts Swedish band The Cardigans, admitted that she has enjoyed the smaller scale tours that the band have recently undertaken due to decreasing record sales.
The group rose to prominence when their track 'Lovefool' featured in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet in the mid '90s. Their albums First Band on the Moon and Gran Turismo were worldwide hits, but the recent Long Gone Before Daylight and Super Extra Gravity failed to match earlier sales.
"We've experienced what it's like to have massive commercial success, but I don't know if life was better then," explained Persson. "I've had more fun touring on the last two tours."
She added: "I'd like more money, but what's the price you pay for the money? I thought our last two albums were our best but that wasn't reflected in sales. I just make them, though. I don't second-guess people."
