It's a great song, it's just too bad Madonna's barely singing in it. She's definitely sidelined by Justin Timberlake who makes the song what it is. The music is slightly overpowering but nevertheless, the song is guaranteed to be a hit. Of what very little Madonna actually sings in it, she sounds good.

Very catchy!

That review is bang on the money in many respects. I think Timbaland has reached saturation point in the UK at the mo though, so, for a new Madonna track, this doesn't sound fresh at all - especially as Timbaland seems to have rolled so many of his trademark production licks from previous projects into this one track. And Timberlake intoning "Ma-daaaaaaaana!" just sounds naff to these ears. Disappointing
Rob Francis, Basingstoke, Hants on March 19th, 2008
I'm not keen on this song, the only thing good about it is the fact that Timbaland's on it.
Alex on March 19th, 2008
dunno, I like the track a lot. on the first listen I havemixed feelings about it, but now I'm all for saving the world with Madonna and co!
Lyndsey, Manchester on March 19th, 2008
The song is bad enough without the awful single cover! What is going on in the Madonna camp these days? Having heard this and Candy Shop I'm not feeling too optimistic :S

Well im loving it, 5 stars for Queen of POP Madge... she does it again. So what if the style has been tried before by others? So has POP/DISCO which she has done before and paved herself nearly into pop history. Go for it Madge, looking forward to the new album too. Catchy song and killer chorus.
Justin on March 19th, 2008
I quite like it - three great artists all coming together is great!
Graeme, England on March 19th, 2008
I like this track madonna has done it again , not as good as hung up for the confessions album , but a song that will stick in your head and will be good to dance to in night clubs.
Bobbie, Paris on March 19th, 2008
Couldn't agree more with this review. I'm so surprised Madge decided to jump on the Timbalandwagon and stop taking any risks by using a fresh producer / sound. She's getting a bit desperate it seems.
Alex, Miami on March 20th, 2008
I thought it was a mistake for Madonna to work with Timbaland -Timberlake after working with serious producers such as Leonard, Mirwais, Orbit, etc. With that been said,I am glad to be proved wrong by the diva. Four Minutes will be a great success, great tune!
Isabelle, Montreal on March 20th, 2008
I am disappointed. Very low quality. She's done so much better. I think that this collaboration with JT is a terrible mistake. I just hope that the remaining songs on the album are much better or at least as good as COTDF.
Big fan, Montreal on March 20th, 2008
I am a big fan, since the begining. But this song suck. It's a Justin Timberlake song, not a Madonna song. Why she had to do an album with all this crap: Justin, Akon, Timbaland,Pharel....I am so sad....
Dan Rockwood, Plymouth on March 20th, 2008
Excellent single, reinvented herself again, she needed to toughen up. I'm pleased she's giving the electronic dance tunes a miss this time round. A refreshing change, but I'm sure there are even better songs on her 'Hard Candy' album. I hear miles away and give it to me are hot!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't usually like madonna, but LOVE this! But seen as Justin completley overpowers her maybe that's the reason

Madonna now follows the pack is right. I am, I mean was a huge fan. Just downloaded the track and I want my money back. I have huge respect for JT and Timberland. But this song just sounds exactly like what they have released in the last couple of years. No innovation in the sound which has always been a Madonna trait in her music. I for one will not be waiting for the album........this is just awful. As a core fan from 1987, I think Madonna will lose a lot of core fans if this is the direction she's going. She may make her money on downloads of the single song, but that kind of fan, and I use that term loosely, are not going to pay the STG£70+ price tag her concert tickets go for. Majorly Disappointed

I think the song is great and i like the way they've got Madonna to sing effortlessly a few lines here and there she doesn't really have to try these days she is and will always be the queen of pop!!
Becki, Wigan on March 23rd, 2008
im in love with this song deserves 5 stars !
Jart, Mexico on March 25th, 2008
Great song... maybe not her best... but is gonna be a hit. I appreciate the risk she takes to make different sounds in each album.
Simon W, Singapore on March 27th, 2008
It's an excellent track and I have no doubt it will be a worldwide hit. I would love to get my hands on the remixes. It will be awesome ! 4 minutes is short to dance to this banging track.
Andy, Manchester on March 29th, 2008

the Doors would be ashamed of Madonna.
Magno, Brasil on March 31st, 2008
The fans didn't like it, but the americans did. 4 minutes is growing faster them all other songs in Usa, for the second week; and got #1 in Canada in it's 1st week. Not as good as Hung Up, but will make more sucess.
LON, Manchester, UK on March 31st, 2008
Worst thing she has ever inflicted on the human race. Shame on you Madonna I weep for you.

This track is an example of how frustrating Madonna can be as an artist. She incredibly talented and intelligent, but never seems to push herself to the limits of what’s she capable of. Timbaland and Timberlake are arrogant charlatans and “Four Minutes” - another piece of production line trash from the corporate conservative duo - is a missed opportunity for Madonna - I sincerely hope that all she’s trying to do is shovel an album out of the way before severing her contract with Warners. Popular music is in terminal decline, and there is no one in a more pivotal position to save it than Madonna. She’s in great physical and mental shape, can sing well live, plays guitar, has attitude, doesn’t need any more money, and commands respect. The musical environ in which Madonna started out (when Prince, Michael Jackson and Van Halen ruled the US airwaves) was like Beethoven compared to now. Madonna is perfectly poised to launch a great new phase of her career and for music - if she goes ROCK AND ROLL. Step up to the place, Your Madgesty! The world needs you now more than ever.

I'm a huge gay madonna fan, but this is awful, thi sis not the direction that the queen of pop should have taken, i think this might be her downfall! Everything about it is awful, the cheesey lyrics, cheesey riffs and the fact that timbaland has anythin to do with it just makes it awful! Bring back confessions madonna, or even "Madonna" Madonna!!!!!
Caroline, Surrey on April 8th, 2008
CRAP. This is an awful song.
St.Joes Divas! on April 9th, 2008
I think, as a huge fan of madge, that this song is terrible. No Contructed verses and that scarf just makes justin look sooo dumb! Who does madonna think she is running on that treadmill and why would i want to see the cross section of two nasty people kissing!?? Luv U 4ever Madge...Your My Biggest Fan! XxX
Melissa, UK on April 13th, 2008
I liked it a lot, both song and the video. I think it was a right move for Madonna to collaborate with these guys. The song is catchy, breezy and humorous. All this off the wall elements in song and video artistically come together. But I am slightly concerned that in this video Madonna is not dominant enough. As if the guys are taking over. But all three look good together and Madonna and Justin definitely have artistic chemistry. Both look hot, except perhaps this strange corset Madonna is wearing which is beyond my sense of fashion. But otherwise a cool new entry from Madonna.

Madonna should just stay at home and keep her clothes on!!

Well, if it had been Justin with Nelly/Britney/anyone not old enough to be his mother this song would have been fab. Unfortunately it is Madonna and the whole thing just seems a little creepy to me
