The soft drinks firm announced earlier this week that every American, except former band members Slash and Buckethead, would be given a free beverage if Rose released the long-awaited CD in 2008.
Chinese Democracy would be the band's first record since 1993's The Spaghetti Incident?. The album is rumoured to have cost $13 million to make.
Writing on the band's official website, Rose said: "We are surprised and very happy to have the support of Dr Pepper with our album Chinese Democracy, as for us, this came totally out of the blue.
"If there is any involvement with this promotion by our record company or others, we are unaware of such at this time. And as some of Buckethead's performances are on our album, I'll share my Dr Pepper with him."
