Recent reports have claimed that Jay-Z would pull out of the show and be replaced by Prince. Michael Eavis quashed the talk, suggesting that it may have been started by organisers of the O2 Wireless Festival to boost ticket sales.
Emily told The Mirror: "I spoke to his production people yesterday and everyone is gung-ho and totally upbeat about Jay's appearance here. Obviously, there's been a lot of hoo-ha about it elsewhere, but the response we've had from the public has been incredible.
"We're just so excited that we're having a legend on the farm and the overwhelming reaction we've had has been really positive, there’s a real buzz. But we've been coming up against some underlying ill-feeling from certain quarters that we don't really understand."
Eavis added that when Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, performs '99 Problems' the festival crowd will "go absolutely mental".
She added: "If we’d just had Radiohead or Coldplay or whatever on again there would have been criticism that we hadn’t moved on."
Glastonbury takes place on Worthy Farm in Somerset from June 27-29.
