Sick Lavigne cancels more gigs

Avril Lavigne has cancelled more US tour dates after being diagnosed with acute laryngitis.

The singer pulled out of two gigs in California last week after losing her voice, later apologising to fans on her official website.

Now she has been forced to postpone six further dates across California and Washington.

She wrote on her official website: "My sincerest apologies to all of my fans. My intention was to complete the rest of the tour but tonight at sound check in Anaheim (California) I realised this wasn't possible."

Lavigne's next scheduled concert takes place in Glasgow on May 26, the first stop on an eight-date UK tour.
