Neil Diamond nervous about Glasto show

Neil Diamond has admitted that his band are worried they'll be "laughed out of the country" after playing Glastonbury.

The veteran singer will play the Pyramid Stage at the summer bash on June 29.

Speaking about his knowledge of the Somerset festival, he told BBC 6 Music: "Well I know it's one of the ultimate festivals and maybe the biggest. Maybe the best? Maybe the oldest?

"I've heard about it for years and it just sounded right. It just sounded like, this time let's have some fun and play the Glastonbury Festival."

When he was told that Johnny Cash played the event in 1994, Diamond replied: "Well, those are tough footsteps to follow in, but I think we'll have some fun. That's basically why I want to do it."

Kings of Leon, Jay-Z and The Verve headline this year's Glastonbury. Tickets are still available.
