Pigeon Detectives promise "mature" new album

Indie stars The Pigeon Detectives have revealed that their new album features a more "mature" sound.

Drummer Jimmi Naylor told DS that Emergency - due on May 26 - "isn't a million miles away" from last year's platinum debut, Wait For Me.

However, he admitted that the band's sound has "definitely changed a little bit", saying: "I hate to say it but we do sound a little bit mature."

Naylor also insisted the band hasn't lost its knack for a singalong chorus, saying: "We always want to have a melody in there. We don't really go in for experimental songs that you need to sit down in a dark room to listen to."
