Coldplay have donated a piano to St. David's School, Moreton.

The indie band gave the educational establishment £3,072 so it could purchase a red oak kemble instrument.

St. David's was left severely damaged after the floods in July 2007 and lost nearly all of its musical equipment.

Teaching assistant Christina Windridge told the Cotswold Journal: "We are just so grateful to them because we have been able to use this money.

"The money that we would have had to use to pay for the piano has been used to buy other keyboard equipment."

Coldplay release their fourth studio album Viva La Vida in June.
