The Kooks 'motivated' by music teacher

The Kooks have revealed that the negative comments of a former music teacher inspired them as band.

Singer Luke Pritchard said he felt like he was earning revenge against his former tutor by scoring chart success.

He told the Daily Star: "At school my music teacher told me over and over again that I was wasting my time and should try a different profession.

"I think I’ll send him a platinum Kooks album one day."
