it is awful

Blackout is far better, however Circus is a grower - so credit where credit is due :) Circus *** Blackout ****
Janic on January 8th, 2009
I loved Britney. Really loved her. But this album... I feel generous giving it a star. It's awful. Plain awful. It's no where near what she's capable of. This album is repetitive, boring trash.
Claire, Aberdeen on December 31st, 2008
I really like this album. Out From Under & If U Seek Amy are pure genius. But she's taken a step back I think. Blackout was better

Is amazing
Patrick, Cambridge on December 23rd, 2008
Poor effort, nevermind as she's not famous for her music anymore

Mandy, London on December 15th, 2008
Definitely no great comeback. Try again Brit. Pity.
Sanju, Prague, Czech Rep on December 12th, 2008
I was never a fan of Brit but when i heard Circus i downloaded it just to listen to it again and something i never thought would happen, happened:- I totally loved her song! Some songs on Circus do surprise. ("My Baby" is the worst though)

take that are a complete bunch of wannabe's the only people buying there stuff, is old women in there thirties. I lost respect for gary balow, when he thought diana on x factor was good, no counting taste then i suppose! then one of his mates from his band, said if brit beat them to the top spot she's a bitch. then i listen to both album's, musically brit's is better. she has more cooler fans, better music, and oh, has taste. so GO EXPRESS YOUR HATE FOR BRITNEY ON TAKE THAT'S CIRCUS PAGE.
Lewis, Carrickfergus on December 5th, 2008
Basically I think this album is awesome! And everybody seems to be arguing over the fact that take that is 'better' but like everyone in allowed there opinion. although 2009 is britney's year :)
Louisa, London on December 5th, 2008
All you jealous people take that are rubbish and dull I bet half the people who have slagged the album off haven't even listened to the whole album britneys album is the best like every song ok there now am loving kill the lights
Taz, London on December 5th, 2008
"Taz got out of your own ass"??????. English not your strong point Nathan. Take That are doing better for one simple reason, THEY ARE BETTER!!!!!!
Nathan, Sheffield on December 4th, 2008
Taz got out of your own ass. Obviously Take That are gunna do better than Britney, their lea single was more succesful than Britney's and their UK fanbase is larger, Take That first come around like 5 year's before Britney, remember that. I think the album is a 4 star album. Its far better than Blackout (Though I love Blackout) and I'm excited to see her in concert in June! Bring on the Circus!! <3
Taz, London on December 4th, 2008
Oh really, so why is Take That's album at number one and Britney's isn't????? Seems rather ALOT of people disagree with you.
Rob, Yorkshire on December 3rd, 2008
Why the bad reviews? Personally I think this album features some of her best songs to date: Kill the Lights, Circus, Womanizer, If U Seek Amy, all shine. This is way better than Take That could ever be!
Gary Lucas, Canterbury on December 3rd, 2008
This review matches my thoughts exactly; it is fair and accurate, acknowledging the good while also highlighting what's wrong with the album. Good stuff!
Jemma -Essex on December 3rd, 2008
Shes still got it!
Shyelle Richie, Birmingham brap on December 3rd, 2008
Womanizer was the rock of the album but she mimed it on X Factor and that was totally waah waah. Go Britney! --- I wanna be a star x. Richie muah muah <3 Luvya Kerrii!
SW, Newcastle on December 3rd, 2008
great album - not sure why it has radar on it from the blackout album? best tracks are womanizer, cirus, kill the lights and out from under. dont see the problem with her miming on x factor - the song has so many effects on it it would sound poor song live i think. Nice to see Britney back !
princess on December 3rd, 2008
I THINK HER ALBUM IS THE BEST ALL OF YOU ARE JEALOUS!
Big Al, Leeds. on December 3rd, 2008
Leave. Britney. Alone. Waaaaaaah!
Steve, London on December 3rd, 2008
This album is no better than anything else she has ever done, a load of tripe from a woman who can't even sing live. After het appalling mimed performance on the X Factor and the fact she doesn't even sing live when you go see her on tour, she is nothing special. Truly awful in every way but then it is britney.
Lostbhoy on December 3rd, 2008
Great album but for me the best songs apart from Womanizer, Circus and Kill The Lights are the bonus tracks Amnesia,Trouble and Quicksand. the latter should def have been a full track :( Never mind the overblown fiasco that was The X Factor cos Britney Bitch is back and the doc on Sky1 the other night would have even made the coldest hearted person have sympathy when she cried. Looking forward to the tour.
Richie, Seattle WA on December 3rd, 2008
It's a pretty good album. Unfortunately, I think she needs to stick to the upbeat songs & stay away from ballads. I love Britney, but her & ballads do NOT mix. She's a pop star because she has energy & get's people pumped. She should stick to the Blackout theme & only do dance/pop music. Blackout was better than Circus, but I still love it.
Missy, London on December 2nd, 2008
I agree with Elizabeth, Sheffield, I preferred Blackout. I listened to Circus and had to prevent myself from fast-forwarding to the next track. Quite a few fillers, and not quite the big comeback I was hoping for. But there are still some good tracks on the album.
Steven, London on December 2nd, 2008
Great album circus is great song and out from under is great ballad no.1 potential
Babes, Baltimore on December 2nd, 2008
Did Marlee Matlin review this album. No hearing person could have given this crap 3 out of 5 stars:(
Katie, Ayr on December 2nd, 2008
Great CD, had it a few days now. Some great tracks, and I think it's better than her previous album.
Trent, NJ on December 2nd, 2008
Look the words "Spears" & "brilliance" were never meant to be anywhere near each other. This muzak is further proof. And isn't it nice to see all her record company's paid reviewers are here voting again, just like iTunes... I shall chose new Jersey as my phoney location.. next....?
MK, London on December 2nd, 2008
Best songs imo: Circus Mannequin If You Seek Amy Unusual You
Andy on December 2nd, 2008
I love Circus! I was a big fan of Blackout (and classed it as one of her better records) and this comes on par. It has a few 'ugh skip this' tracks, but Blackout did too (Freakshow anyone?) but it more than makes up for it with the majority which make you wanna sing along and the ballads are very powerful.
Chris, Hampshire on December 2nd, 2008
This is one on the best albums I own - don't love every track like I did with Blackout but its a great album, from an amazing artist. I'm bored of people criticising Britney for the sake of it, and so is everyone else. She is a great performer and singer and deserves all the credit she can for this great album.
Jill on December 2nd, 2008
Couldn't disagree with this review more, "blackout" was her worst album not her best (as this review suggests). Circus has surpassed my expectations completely, It is such a good album - there's about 2 or 3 fillers from an 17 track deluxe album version. This album is a return to form - she'll have at least 5 hit singles from this record. Her, her manager and producers did good, very impressed.
Jerome, London on December 2nd, 2008
1st time I have listened to a whole Britney album (excl. Bonus tracks) and Im impressed with the princess of pop. I especially like Circus, Kill the Lights and If You Seek Amy which btw has a secret meaning if you didnt know! Back to whatshe does best - dancefloor fillers, the only disappointing song is the ridiculous Mmm Papi and for those wondering about Radar's presence on Circus - its because a lot of fans wanted that as the fourth single off of Blackout and was actually almost released as one...
Jelly, Suffolk on December 2nd, 2008
I think this is a great album, Unusual You sticks out a lot for me thats a great song as is the title track. She more than makes up for her performance on The X Factor with this great album. Cant wait for the next single! I think it's offical the girl is back!
Dan, Manchester on December 2nd, 2008
Agree with Mark (Leeds) - it trumps Blackout, whilst I agree nothing on Circus tops Gimme More (in my opinion) but Kill The Lights, If You Seek Amy and Circus (to mention just 3) come pretty damn close. I think Nick has judged Mannequin a little harshly too- one of the strongest tracks on there and manages to stick in your head with ease. I would also say that I find this album slightly less irritating (?) than Blackout (dare I say it?). Less repetitive and (to quote Nick Levine) a "lot less vocal trickery" which I found quite grating on tracks like Piece of Me and Radar.
Elizabeth, Sheffield on December 2nd, 2008
Blackout was a better album, although Circus does have some good tracks alot is just filler. A good comeback all be it slightly disappointing. Dont undertsand why Radar from Blackout is on this album, it doesn't fit at all.
Kadina, Birmingham on December 2nd, 2008
It is a brilliant album but it is missing a hard anthem to lift the album onto the dancefloor. Blackout was better. B**ch!
Jamie, Nottingham on December 2nd, 2008
It feels like a step back from Blackout, which i think is her best CD by far. Circus is much more of a pop album but there are some great stand out tracks like 'You Seek Amy' and 'Unusual You'. It also has a few filler tracks like Shattered Glass which is totally pointless, but overall it's a good album.
