Serving as executive productive, Timberlake makes his mark on Outta Here throughout. Those hankering for something akin to a female-fronted FutureSex/LoveSounds will be satisfied by the supply of well-crafted pop-R&B here. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many of the best moments are those featuring or co-written by the man himself. 'Love Dealer' finds the pair working their urban swagger to the max, 'Gravity' benefits from an almighty belter of a pop hook, and JT takes on the role of protective big brother on 'Casanova', affectionately telling his protégé: "I'm just looking out for you."
Elsewhere, the roster of top draw writers and producers, including Polow Da Don (Usher, Ciara), Ryan Tedder (Beyoncé, Leona) and Stargate (Rihanna, Ne-Yo), keep tracks like 'Outta Here' and recent single 'Admit It' fresh and zesty - though the lyrics rarely stray from safe break-up/make-up territory normally reserved for Disney stars. "I'm just a girl trying to find my way through this life," Denters sings on 'Bigger Than The World', almost begging to be injected with some of the fire shown by fellow Dutchwoman Eva 'Silly Boy' Simons.
If anything, it's Denters's voice that stands out most here, justifying why she attracted all those YouTube hits - 17 million in fact - back in the day. Though she could certainly do with showing a bit more personality, Outta Here features no awkward misfires and she's never anything less than relatable to her core fanbase. The result is a confident, promising introduction that suggests the Denters fairytale won't be coming to an end any time soon.
