What's your new single 'Goodbye, Goodnight' all about?
Kim: "It's about having good times! It was actually one of the last records we made for the album."
Spencer: "It's an anthemic song. We were close to finishing the album and we thought we needed one more anthem and we started talking about all the good times we've had making the record - it was a lot of fun to make!"
Are there ever any disagreements in the studio when you're recording a track?
Spencer: "We're usually always on the same page. For this track we came up with our own concepts but they all revolved around the same idea of making a song about an epic night out."
Explain the idea behind the music video.
Kim: "The video is about waking up after a night out and trying to piece together what happened the night before. It's me, walking through the club and looking at what I got up to. The whole thing was a lot of fun to film!"
Are you pleased with how the project is going so far?
Kim: "I feel like we're just getting started. We're getting to the stage now where we've had some life experiences together, but now we need to focus on getting the word about us out there. This album means so much to both of us - we've really put our hearts on our sleeves - and we'll play it to anyone who will have us!"
Were you disappointed with the chart position of 'Stars in your Eyes'?
Spencer: "It's interesting how the music industry and how radio works nowadays. It's all different. We don't think that particular song is done yet, but at the time we really wanted it to blow up. Maybe it wasn't the right time for it. Now that it's summer, people seem to be revisiting it again, so you never know."
Kim: "I'm a big believer in everything happening for a reason, and that song didn't get the traction it needed at the time because it wasn't meant to. There were still some things to figure out too - since that release a lot has changed behind the scenes."
Why is the album called 111?
Kim: "111 is a sign I've acquired in my life that lets me know I'm on the right track and headed in the right direction. When Spencer and I met to discuss putting this duo together, I parked behind his car and the number on the licence plate was 111, so it immediately felt right! I looked up the significance on the internet and it seems to have something to do with angels and your destiny."
Is the album completely finished now?
Spencer: "It's completely mixed and ready to go. The last thing we did was to add interludes to the album."
Kim: "It's like one collective trip. The album is almost a cinematic experience and it takes you through a journey with different vibes and meanings and music."
Are the singles a good indicator of the sound?
Spencer: "They're definitely a portion of the sound, but people are going to be surprised by what they hear on this record - it definitely takes you on a journey. I can't wait for people to hear it, especially for Kim, because this album really shows her off as a real artist."
Kim: "There's a song on there called 'Emerald Showers' that we love and another called 'Shades of Grey' that we're big fans of too. There's a lot more to come from this album."
Kim - you recently wrapped another season of Got To Dance, are you signed on for the next series?
Kim: "I don't think I'm allowed to say, but it's looking very positive. The show is still getting a great response in the UK and the US, which is wonderful."
What can we expect from your upcoming live shows?
Spencer: "We've got some festival dates lined up, we're especially looking forward to Wireless and Oxygen."
Kim: "It's going to be fresh, cinematic and epic. We want to create unique and amazing experiences for our fans that they'll never forget!"
'Goodbye, Goodnight' is out on May 30. The album 111 follows on June 13.
