British rapper M.I.A. has revealed that her live performance at last weekend's Bonnaroo Festival was her "last ever show".
The 30-year-old made the announcement to festival-goers on June 13, according to the New York Times.
"This is my last show, and I'm glad I'm spending it with all my hippies," she said. After repeating the message three times, she added: "Thanks for coming to my last gig."
M.I.A, real name Mathangi Maya Arulpragasam, later confirmed news of her retirement to New York Magazine, saying that giving up touring would allow her more time to work on new material.
