The musician, who first worked on the station in 1985, has agreed to present a series of specials on the history of dance music.
Station managing director Steve Parkinson said: "If there was a Professor of dance music, it would be Paul, so it is fantastic to have him back with the station."
Oakenfold, whose best known creations include the Big Brother theme, will also act as a "Music is Life ambassador" for Kiss.
