Coldplay have become the first British group since the Spice Girls to top the US singles chart.
'Viva La Vida', the title track from their new album, climbs a place to No.1 on this week's Billboard Hot 100.
It becomes the second British single to reach the top this year, after Leona Lewis spent four weeks at number one with 'Bleeding Love' in April and May.
'Viva La Vida' is one of three British singles in this week's top ten, with 'Bleeding Love' in fourth position and Natasha Bedingfield's 'Pocketful of Sunshine' in sixth.
