Producer Rodney Jerkins has said that he is trying to "reinvent" Britney Spears with her new album.

The Grammy winner claimed material he is working on with Spears sounds "very dancey, really up-tempo, aggressive, catchy, and hook friendly".

He last worked with the popstar seven years ago on the singles 'Overprotected' and 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll'.

Speaking to Rap-Up TV, Jerkins said: "I'm trying some new things [with Spears]… I've always worked with Britney and I love working with her.

"I'm trying to reinvent her and reinvent myself with her project."

He added: "It's about to be her time again."

Spears's last album Blackout was released in October 2007.
