Arctics to return to writing this month

The Arctic Monkeys will begin writing a third album this month, guitarist Jamie Cook has said.

"We are gonna make a start," Cook told BBC 6 Music. "We'll get back in (Alex Turner's) room in Sheffield and start writing some tunes.

"At the end of last year when we had been touring for a long time, we just needed a bit of a rest. But I think as a band we are just eager to get back in."

Cook said he was "excited" to be getting started but did not know what direction the music would take.
