McGee: 'Record labels live in the past'

Speaking to XFM, the music mogul said that he would advise all bands to avoid signing deals and produce music on their own.
"I'd recommend a band not to go to any record label, I think they're all f***ing rubbish," he said. "You're better off doing it yourself.
"They're living in the past, it's like owning a tram company or something."
McGee co-founded Creation Records in 1983 and went on to sign bands including Primal Scream, Super Furry Animals, My Bloody Valentine, Oasis and The Boo Radleys.
He is currently working with groups such as Dirty Pretty Things and Glasvegas.
