Doherty skips festival to be with cat

Pete Doherty failed to attend the Werchter Festival in Belgium because his cat went into labour.

The Babyshambles singer visited the vet with his pet instead of attending the music bash, reports The Sun.

Doherty will apparently miss out on £60,000 for not turning up at the event.

"He'd do anything for his cats no matter what the cost," said a source. "But he’s mad to let that kind of money go."

The frontman arrived late for a gig in Brixton in May, explaining to fans that he had just buried one his cats at the roadside.

Doherty is rumoured to have around ten moggies at his home in Wiltshire.
