The Strokes star Albert Hammond Jr has admitted that the band must work quickly when recording their fourth studio album.
The guitarist expressed fears that fans could lose interest if the follow-up to 2006's First Impressions of Earth is not released next year.
"If we don't make a Strokes record before that, people will think that's the end of us," Al told Teletext. "Nothing's set, but we're definitely figuring out something to do for 2009."
N.E.R.D star Pharrell Williams recently announced that he wants to work on the forthcoming album.
