The DJ, real name Norman Cook, claimed that he was treating Penate like a son during their recording sessions.
"He's a fantastic musician and I've really enjoyed working with him," Cook told the BBC. "He calls me dad and every time I text him I call him son.
"I think he's very proud to have me as a dad and I'm very proud to have him as a son."
Cook said that the duo were drawn together by their similar musical tastes. "We were doing a tune and I said I wanted to achieve the same atmosphere as 'The Only Living Boy In New York' by Simon and Garfunkel.
"Jack was like, 'oh that's one of my favourite songs'. So, we share the same influences and hence came up with the same music."
