Estelle complains about feud reports

Estelle has accused the media of being responsible for her "feuds" with Adele and Duffy.

The singer claimed that she was misquoted by The Guardian after speaking about soul music in an interview with the newspaper.

At the time, she was quoted as saying: "Adele ain't soul. She sounds like she heard some Aretha records once, and she's got a deeper voice - that don't mean she's soul. That don't mean nothing to me in the grand scheme of my life as a black person."

In a new interview with Celebs on Sunday magazine, Estelle explained: "People have created feuds between me and other artists. Adele and me, we have no beef, and I've never met Duffy.

"But I think 'Mercy' and 'Chasing Pavements' are pop songs, not soul songs, and people have translated that as me saying, 'White girls can't sing'."

Estelle was at the top of the UK singles chart for four weeks earlier this year with her track 'American Boy'.
