The indie band will release the previously unheard single 'Last Kiss' in September to coincide with their latest UK tour.
Speaking about the new track, singer Liam Fray told the Daily Star: "We've been in London recording brand new stuff.
"We're always writing. It seems to go one of two ways these days - bands get an album out within three months of the first one, or wait five years."
He added: "'Last Kiss' is going to be a stand-alone single and probably won't be on the next album."
The Courteeners, who released debut album St.Jude in April, begin their nationwide tour in Newcastle on October 3.
